The Sheet Metal Helper supports field operations by assisting mechanics with the positioning, alignment, and assembly of sheet metal systems and related components. This role involves handling tools and materials, aiding in layout and installation tasks, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Physical stamina and the ability to work in outdoor and elevated conditions are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Holds, positions, and reads tape to assist in layout.
Places and moves, equipment and materials.
Positions and turns clamps; screws, bolts, and hammers together; uses tools and equipment properly and only if certified (as required).
Transports and furnishes mechanics with materials, tools, and supplies.
Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment; ensures that tools, equipment, and materials are stored properly and securely.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
Ability to inspect tools and anticipate what mechanic needs next.
Qualifications:
Two to three years of experience.
Willingness to install different sheet metal systems.
