Knitting Mechanic

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on knitting machines.
  • Complete style changes and machine set ups according to specification sheets.
  • Repair/replace machine parts as required.
  • Perform any quality related measurements or checks as required.
  • Record machine down time with Supervisor.
  • Assist Knitters to keep machines running. 
  • Ensure machines are producing first quality fabric.
  • Maintain yarn tensions utilizing various feeders to ensure consistent fabric appearance.
  • Understand yarn counts and types.
  • Provide reports on spare parts, broken items, and any issues concerning production.
  • Record defect repairs on knitting production ticket.
  • Follow all safety procedures/policies and advise management of any unsafe conditions.
  • Keep work area neat and clean.
Qualifications:
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least two years of experience in a mechanical maintenance position.
  • Familiarity with knitting machines is preferred.
