The Quality Control Technician I is responsible for conducting comprehensive testing of production batches and incoming raw materials in strict adherence to detailed written test methods. This role requires the ability to interpret and analyze test results to ensure all products meet defined specifications and quality standards. The technician will play a critical role in maintaining the efficient operation of the laboratory, ensuring it meets safety and regulatory compliance requirements, and performing independent tasks as outlined by the supervisor or manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately perform and document all required tests on production batches and raw materials within defined timelines. Analyze and interpret results, identifying and reporting both in-spec and out-of-spec data to ensure product quality.
Demonstrate competence in executing established test methods with precision. Utilize good judgment in all testing activities to ensure consistency and reliability of results.
Conduct raw material tests following the appropriate methodologies, and place non-conforming materials on hold, communicating any necessary actions to relevant departments.
Organize, stock, and manage the product retain area, ensuring samples are properly labeled, stored, and readily accessible for future reference.
Regularly verify lab equipment performance against industry standards. Promptly report any deviations or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
Support and adhere to the ISO Management Systems, Safety Systems, and other regulatory compliance standards. Promote and maintain a safe and orderly work environment in the lab.
Monitor inventory levels of lab supplies, restocking as necessary and placing orders to maintain adequate supplies.
Willingness to work different shifts, including covering for vacations, overtime, and unplanned absences as required.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab, ensuring all test equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
Assist in other laboratory tasks and projects assigned by the Quality Laboratory Manager, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the lab.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in quality control or analytical testing within a manufacturing or production environment.
Proficiency in standard laboratory practices and techniques.
Strong understanding of chemical analysis, material properties, and quality assurance principles.
Familiarity with ISO standards and safety protocols in a lab setting.
