Job Description

The Construction Technologist specializes in improving upon or creating new processes through the implementation of innovative solutions within the organization. Research, development, and implementation of new technologies as well as continuous support of existing technologies. Acts as liaison between the organization and internal employees to increase customer engagement. May have specialized focus on solutions in the office, field, or both in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as primary point of contact within the organization for all office and field technology solutions.
  • Work with leadership to develop customer discovery initiatives with internal and external associates to identify innovation goals.
  • Assist with the development of planning methods to meet the evolving level of support required due to process and changes and/or additional support offerings available through new technology.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design, implement, maintain, or improve on existing process improvements within the organization.
  • Assist in the implementation, training, and maintenance of cloud-based collaboration solutions, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong focus on Procore, ACC and STRATUS solutions and training.
  • Provides guidance to leadership during the development and execution of the organization’s construction technology strategic business goals.
  • Works with employees to develop, implement, and maintain functional learning and development programs relevant to process and software systems, including support of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Assist leadership in defining and documenting departmental SOP’s and relevant deployment methods.
  • Serves as a conductor of research, proposals, and ROI metrics for potential technology solutions.
  • Experiment with new technologies most suitable for the organization’s specialties, project sizes, and internal/external associates.
  • Represents the organization at various industry seminars and conferences.

Qualifications:
  • Must have basic knowledge of construction practices, designs, and/or principles, relative to installation of HVAC and/or plumbing systems on commercial construction projects.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit and Navisworks.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and develop “best for project” solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively and professionally present technical topics to individuals and groups.
  • Autodesk Certified User Revit; 1 year experience.
  • 1 year of experience in related field installation or shop fabrication activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering, construction science, computer science, information technology, drafting, design technology or another related field.
  • Local travel to offices and jobsites required.
