Job Description


The role would be responsible for overseeing field installation activities of hydronic and steam systems on industrial and commercial service projects. The role emphasizes labor productivity, quality control, safety compliance, and effective crew leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead work crews in the pipefitting trade; manages 2-6 employees and responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Follows all rules and procedures required; ensures pipefitting staff follow procedures and policies.
  • Communicate with contractors on various projects to ensure they achieve quality work in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with staff and provides feedback to staff regarding the status of the project and provides daily reports.
  • Instructs pipefitting staff in the techniques and procedures employed in the hydronic, and other pipefitting trades.
  • Pre-plans, the work of the staff engaged in the installation, modification, and/or repair of systems.
  • Inspects work upon completion to determine that staff followed the necessary procedures and that work conforms to job documents and job-specific drawings.
  • Acts as a working crew supervisor in cutting, threading, soldering, brazing, pressing, grooving, mechanical joint systems, fusion systems (similar to Aquatherm), assembling and installing pipe, connecting valves, and pressure testing finished work (materials: carbon steel, stainless steel copper, and PVC).
  • Coaches and develops team/crew.
  • Repairs and replaces water, steam, air, and gas, along with multitude of other piping requirements.
  • Monitors work of crew members for adherence to plans, specifications, and job-specific drawings & directions.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years' industrial /commercial pipefitting experience.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence; solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Proficient at assembling butt weld and socket-weld carbon steel systems. Skills regarding cleaning and flushing of hydronic systems as well as refrigeration systems are a plus.
  • Competent with the use of an iPad.
  • Good attitude and open minded to solving problems; willing to take classes.
  • Multi trade experience, electrical, plumbing & GC work.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • OSHA 10 & 30.
